COVID-19: Our approach towards safety and flexibility with our rentals

Like all of our families across the globe, we are continuing to monitor the impact of the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19). We value the safety of our guests as well as our local operators and want to share some of our measures to help uphold that commitment.

Contactless Deliveries

While many states have issued “stay-at-home” measures, we understand that baby equipment may be needed for those sheltering away from home. Many of our locations offer contactless deliveries where equipment is delivered directly to your front porch. Please inquire with your local operator to coordinate such deliveries.

Equipment Cleanliness

We want to assure you that protecting our guests from the risk of infection by communicable diseases has always been part of our safety and cleanliness protocols.  While the current COVID-19 is newly identified, it behaves like other human coronaviruses.

Coronaviruses are easily eliminated from surfaces through routine cleaning and sanitation. All of our equipment is thoroughly disinfected and sanitized between each use with products approved by the CDC. We have an increased policy for ongoing, frequent cleaning and sanitizing to ensure a products safety prior to it going out for a reservation.

Reservation Flexibility

For those with upcoming travel, we shall continue to operate in accordance with our high standards. However, we understand any uncertainty and reservations can be cancelled for a full refund with at least 24 hours notice prior to delivery. We do not process payment until the week of delivery, giving you more flexibility to make changes as your plans also change.

Should you need to cancel a reservation, please contact either our local operator or our corporate office. We do not process payment until the week of your reservation. However, if payment has been processed prior to the cancellation, you shall receive a full refund. If you have a confirmed reservation and have simply changed your travel dates, please contact our local operator. We can similarly adjust the dates of your reservation.

Cleaning & Sanitizing Standards :
Cleanliness and safety are the top priorities at San Diego Baby’s Away. All rental
items are deep cleaned and safety checked after each rental. Along with the below
processes every item is scanned with a Leo UV Light Sanitizer, killing 99.9% of Viruses and Bacteria.

Our Cleaning Processes include:

  • Steam Cleaning – We steam clean most items using the Sargent Steam
    Cleaner, enabling us to deep clean without the use harsh chemicals. Each
    blast unleashes 298 degrees of powerful steam that provides a quick kill on
    all types of bacteria in less than two seconds.
  • Machine Washing – All fabrics that can be washed will be washed using a
    mild detergent on the hottest recommended setting. Examples: All Car Seat,
    Bouncy Seat, Exersaucer/Jumper Seat, and Swing Seat Fabrics. As well as,
    Crib Sheets, Bumbleride Seat Fabrics, and High Chair Seat Covers.
  • Vacuuming – Before items are washed/sanitized we vacuum from top to
    bottom removing all loose sand, dirt and crumbs.
  • Sanitizing Wipes – We wipe down hard surfaces with sanitizing wipes to
    ensure our items are clean to the recommended standards of the CDC and
    WHO.

San Diego Baby’s Away has proudly served local and traveling families in the San Diego area since 1997. You can either place orders online or by phone.  Once your order request has been received, we will email you an order confirmation and will contact you for CC information and to discuss delivery details.

Delivery of your Baby’s Away rental equipment to a rental house, condo, villa, cottage, local resident or hotel is typically made prior to your arrival and is coordinated directly with the property manager, host, owner, or family member.

All you need to do is sit back and enjoy your wonderful vacation! All we ask is that you please leave your items where they were delivered.

We begin pickups the morning of your departure; please call in advance should you need arrangements otherwise. For pickup from a local resident, we will confirm a pickup time to ensure your vacation is over or you have departed our area.

Typically, our deliveries are made between the hours of 9am – 1pm.  Although, other arrangements can be made prior to confirming the order and is subject to driver availability.

Yes!  San Diego Baby’s Away works with many of the rental agencies and private rentals to ensure your items are set up prior to your arrival.  Cribs and Pack n’ Plays will be set up upon request, in whichever room you would like to have it set up in.  All other equipment is set up in the perspective areas.

Yes!  If you would like to avoid the delivery charge pick-up by a customer can be arranged, with the exception of full cribs due to the liability of setting them up properly and their weight and size makes it difficult to transport.

Please leave cribs and large items as is, Baby’s Away will take care of breaking it down at pick-up.  All other equipment should be left in the perspective place(s) we delivered.  The equipment is delivered clean and ready for your use; upon departure, please leave it respectfully clean.  When renting outdoor/indoor toys, please make sure all toys are gathered prior to your departure or risk receiving a damages charge.

Yes! We do make airport/car rental center deliveries. However, deliveries are subject to and dependent upon driver availability and arrival/departure times.

You can cancel an order at anytime up to 48 hours prior to the arrival date. Any cancellation within 48 hours of the arrival date is subject to a $25 cancellation fee. If we do not receive a cancellation prior to delivery we will charge you for the delivery fee plus the $25 late cancellation fee.

Unfortunately Baby’s Away is not allowed to install car seats for liability reasons. All our car seats follow normal installation standards which are labeled on the seats.  If you have any issues or require further instructions we will happily forward you a video demonstration of how to install your car seat.
